Description
RADWRAP T180 REF breathable reflective house wrap and radiant barrier
Water-resistant, vapour-permeable reflective house wrap with metallised foil on both faces. Reflects 91% of radiant heat, 9% emittance, 15.0 perms.
RADWRAP T180 REF is a breathable, water-resistant reflective house wrap and underlayment for walls and roofs. Reflective metallised foil on both faces sits over a vapour-permeable polymeric core, so it blocks moisture while releasing vapour. It works as a weather-resistive barrier, a radiant barrier and an air barrier in one sheet, and it covers up to 120 m² per roll.
What is RADWRAP T180 REF?
RADWRAP T180 REF (product code RADWRAP-T180-REF) is a breathable reflective barrier. Its construction is PEF 12 µm reflective metallised foil / vapour-permeable polymeric core / PEF 12 µm reflective metallised foil, 21 mil (about 0.53 mm) thick.
Unlike a standard house wrap, its low-emittance faces reflect radiant heat instead of absorbing it, improving the envelope U-value when installed with a ventilated air gap. Perforated and solid grades are available; the solid reinforced grade is recommended where air tightness is the priority.
Key benefits
- Water-resistant yet vapour-permeable. 15.0 perms vapour permeability, W1 water resistance (BS EN 13859).
- Reflects 91% of radiant heat, both faces. Reflects rather than absorbs radiant heat.
- Low emittance of 9%. Improves the building envelope U-value.
- Air-tight. Cuts air leakage.
- Works as house wrap and attic insulation. One product for walls, roofs and attics.
- Reinforced. Tear resistant and fast to install.
- Pliable. No cracking in pliability testing (ASTM C-1224).

R-value: complete wall system
RADWRAP is specified as a complete wall system. Generic reflective-cavity figures do not apply.
| Configuration | R-value (m²K/W) |
|---|---|
| Wall assembly with 13 mm ventilated air gap | R 0.90 |
| Reflective face in direct contact, no air gap | Not rated |
System R-value calculated to BS EN ISO 6946 (ref. BS EN 16012) for a ventilated 13 mm cavity bounded by the low-emittance face. Fitted in direct contact with cladding or sheathing, the reflective face delivers no cavity resistance. Adding RADWRAP over bulk insulation raises the total assembly R above the figure shown.
Applications
- House wrap
- Wall sheathing
- Attic insulation
- Roof underlay
- Agricultural buildings
- Residential and commercial buildings
- New build and renovation projects
How to install RADWRAP on walls
- Measure the wall area and check the wall build-up against BS 5250 before ordering.
- Fix over dry, sound sheathing or studs, with a level line set out at the base.
- Start at the base and roll out horizontally, working upward so each course sheds water outward.
- Lap 100 mm horizontally and 150 mm vertically, fixing at studs and taping all seams.
- Batten out over the studs to hold the ventilated cavity, then clad within the UV exposure limit.
Air gap tip: maintain a 13 mm ventilated air gap on the reflective face. Do not fit it in direct contact with cladding, as the reflective face needs an adjacent air gap to work.
Testing and certification
RADWRAP T180 REF is tested to EN standards, with W1 water resistance to BS EN 13859 and pliability to ASTM C-1224. Test reports and certificates are available on request.
Frequently asked questions
What is RADWRAP T180 REF used for?
It is a breathable reflective house wrap and underlayment for walls and roofs, also used as wall sheathing, attic insulation and in agricultural buildings.
Is RADWRAP breathable?
Yes. Its polymeric core is vapour-permeable at 15.0 perms, so moisture vapour escapes while liquid water is kept out (W1 to BS EN 13859).
How much heat does RADWRAP reflect?
Its metallised foil faces reflect 91% of radiant heat, with a surface emittance of 9%.
What R-value does RADWRAP give?
A wall assembly with a 13 mm ventilated air gap on the reflective face achieves R 0.90 m²K/W. Fitted in direct contact with cladding, it is not rated.
Does it need an air gap?
Yes. Maintain a 13 mm ventilated air gap on the reflective face. In direct contact it delivers no radiant benefit.
What roll sizes are available?
Rolls come in 1.20, 1.35 and 1.50 m widths, 40 to 100 m long, covering 12 to 120 m² per roll.
